Learn Camp 2014

Hello again! Summer is here and that means another edition of the Learn Camp program is just around the corner. Thank you to everyone who participated last year! We hope you’ll stick with us and play along with us again.

If you were plugged in to last years program you are all set – no need to do anything at all. (It doesn’t get any easier than that!)  If you know anyone else who might like to participate just send them over here so they can register for the Learn Camp program.

We’ve shuffled things around a bit, adding some new topics and updating most of the others. Plus, we’ve recruited three fantastic webinar speakers who are true leaders when it comes to implementing social approaches within their organizations and helping others along that same path.

He has designed and/or managed the development of learning and performance solutions for organizations such as Smartforce, KnowedgeNet, Pearson Digital Learning, The SUNY Research Foundation, and Aspen Dental Management. Mark currently focuses on the use of collaborative technologies and user-generated content to extend training initiatives and enhance peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. His efforts have altered conventional beliefs about organizational learning, and have helped organizations improve execution, increase agility, and embrace emerging technologies.

Allison Michels is the director of customer & partner training programs for Yammer Education Services at Microsoft. She delivers education programs to customers and engages in the people side of change. She focuses on training and coaching the C-suite. Prior to joining Yammer, Allison was an IT training analyst at First Solar. Allison holds a BA degree in business administration from the University of Toledo and an ME degree in technology and leadership from The George Washington University.

Sept (Date TBD): JD Dillon “How Social Learning Changed Everything at Kaplan”

Director—Learning Development at Kaplan Higher Education
JD Dillon is the director of learning technology and development at Kaplan Higher Education Group, where he leads the development of training content and the application of learning technology. JD has successfully introduced new ways to help Kaplan employees and leaders in call center environments across the organization learn through scalable technology, including the use of virtual delivery, open courses, media-enhanced training, and social performance support. Using his ability to link organizational knowledge, on-the-job performance behaviors, technology, and storytelling, JD also spent time during his 15-year career designing and implementing learning and operational strategies for the Walt Disney Company and AMC Entertainment.
